WHY I'M CHOOSING WHITE QUARTZ WORKTOPS FOR MY KITCHEN..

Here’s why I’m going for white quartz worktops in my new kitchen, and some info on a new collection to consider..

[This post was created in paid partnership with CRL Quartz]

So I’ve pretty much designed my new kitchen now, but I’m not going to share that with you quite yet until I’ve nailed down the finer details. However, one thing I’m all set on is the kitchen surfaces - we’re opting for white quartz worktops.

Before I started designing kitchens for other people, I didn’t have a clue what quartz was - so let’s start at the beginning just in case. You may recognise the name, but it’s good to know the key differences between quartz and other worktop materials. In terms of worktops, quartz is a manmade, composite material which is formulated to be super durable and practical for use as a surface. It doesn’t stain like marble or granite because it’s not porous, it’s heat resistant and it doesn’t scratch easily. It’s just super easy to maintain really, which makes it an ideal choice for the kitchen.

So that’s why I’m choosing quartz, but why white quartz worktops? From a design perspective, I’m definitely drawn to white kitchen worktops on the whole. They look fresh and clean (which I think you want your kitchen to subconsciously present as), and made all the better when choosing a material like quartz which won’t stain with grease, oil or water and show marks.

However, in my space, white kitchen worktops are serving a secondary purpose too. As I have worktops in front of my kitchen window, white quartz worktops will really help to brighten the space. The mix of natural light in our homes is made up for direct sunlight and diffused daylight - when these enter our homes, they also reflect off surfaces, helping push the light further into the space. White kitchen worktops are perfect for this, and in my north-facing room with limited light, it can use all the help it can get!

So there’s my reasoning for choosing a white quartz worktop, but in this blog post, I’m also collaborating with CRL Quartz to showcase their range of white kitchen worktops - they even have a White Collection along with other white tones from other collections.

While I haven’t decided on the style I’m choosing quite yet, here’s some of my highlights from across their range..

STATUARIO BIANCO

My preference for a white kitchen worktop is one with a little pattern to offer some texture, especially if you’ve got large expanses of the surface material. This helps to break up the white, avoid it looking too stark and add some interest and depth. This subtle veining on CRL Quartz Statuario Bianco range is a real treat, especially when used as a splashback too.

VICENZA

I’m very into this Vicenza white quartz worktop design too. Beautiful white and grey tones, with some stronger veins adding more detail.

ICE WHITE

Though I’m a big lover of bold veined marble, I think I’m drawn more to a subtler texture/pattern for the white quartz worktop in my space. It’s not the hugest of rooms, so something that delivers richness without too much pattern will help it feel less busy I think. This Ice white quartz worktop has just slight grey understones which give it depth.

WHITE CARRARA

I love Carrara marble, so it’s no surprise I’m into this beautiful worktop. This is again a subtler offering, with very light grey veining just adding enough detail to keep it interesting.

What do you think of these white quartz worktops? I can’t wait to share some progress on the kitchen front soon, but for now, be sure to go check out CRL Quartz if you’re looking for worktops for your kitchen.
