SCENT OF THE SUMMER: CHILLI PEPPER GELATO

[This post is a paid collaboration with Woodwick]

This new scented candle from Woodwick is a great way to amp up the summer vibes this year.

Well what a wash out summer 2021 has turned out to be so far. I’ve just read on the monthly forecast that it’s probably going to be wet most of July and into August too - far from ideal when I’m waiting for a spell of dry weather to get the garden done!

Though the days seem to be more unsettled than just consistently dull and dreary, I’ve had to turn my focus indoors in trying to create my summer vibe, especially since a holiday isn’t on the cards right now. That’s right, we’re talking summer candle scents on the blog today.

I do love a candle, and I work my way through an awful lot of them, but I’m focusing on a new summer scent from Woodwick for today’s blog. The lovely people at Woodwick sent me over the new Chilli Pepper Gelato candle from their summer 2021 range, asking me to not only try it out, but to style it up in a corner of my home.

Chilli Pepper Gelato sets out to be something a little bit different in terms of a summer scent. The key notes are chilli, citrus, vanilla and coconut - a mix of bold and mellow fragrances that act to balance out the overall scent. It’s definitely a powerful scent, so where sometimes I need a few candles burning to scent a room, this one certainly holds its own by itself.

Good news for me is that Woodwick’s Chilli Pepper Gelato candle is a perfect shade of rust/terracotta for my living room at the moment. I’m loving bringing in these orange tones to the space to add a warm ambience.

And talking of ambience, why did I not know about Woodwick’s Crackle Wicks before now? The Crackle Wicks are made from wood (hence the name!) and burn really consistently, but also let out a gentle crackle. Think summer fire pit sounds - that’s what I’ve been doing anyway, given there’s no chance of spending evenings in the garden right now.

Click the video below to get an idea of what they sound like - such a clever idea!

So what do you think of this candle and my styling for the living room? I’ve got some more Woodwick candles to try out, so pop back soon to see what I do with them!
